Your Weekly Music Lesson with Walt! Class #5: ‘Time Signatures’. This was recorded at Podcamp Pittsburgh in front of a live audience. The response was awesome, and I hope to do more videos like this! Last week in week 4 we learned all about ‘Tempos‘ in music. Tempo and Time Signatures are not related, but the two do go hand in hand. People get this confused. We learned Chords a few weeks ago, as well as the notes on guitar, and now we’re tackling Time Signatures. Any music questions let me know! you can also watch all my other Revision 3 tutorials too.

Ive watched all of the videos so far and I cant wait to see whats next. You are great and I have already learned so much from you. Thanks man!
Thx Lisa. You rock. Glad I can help you!
at 7:38 you say those are two 1/8 notes and then two 4/8 notes. How do you figure that?
At 7:38 the video is 2 seconds to being finished. I’m not talking then (?)
at 4:25 I am sorry. I don’t know why I said 7:38. My mistake.
I meant at 4:25. I don’t how why I ended up typing 7:38. The questing is… how do you figure those are 1/8 notes and 4/8 notes?

Awesome buddy…Great work man!!!
I think time signatures are the most difficult parts of any music student. I find this to be one of the hardest, will have to spend time to get through this, thanks alot for the video, it’s helping us alot! Really aprpeciate it buddy!
At the very end of the video, while talking about 4/4 vs 2/2 you said 2/2 gives a “halftime feel”…what did you mean by that?
Good question. Let me know if this helps: http://waltribeiro.net/2009/04/10/cut-time-and-common-time-explained/
