I’m featured in the Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal interviewed me for a story about content producers and its’ use in New Media. The entire video was shot, edited, and created WSJ’s Andy Jordan. He features the view through Ustream.TV and Mogulus and its position in helping me and Priscilla Ahn create our communities and allow us to promote and distribute our works via our online communities on Twitter, Facebook, and more.

I started this idea out of teaching lessons for free, and therefore creating an entire community and having Sponsors get seen by Thousands every broadcast. So what began on My Ustream.TV Show last March as a trial run, has since received alot of press. But of all the pieces though, I really was impressed with this entire one. As someone who does video as a career, I was balled-over at how well done it is. The lower thirds, voice-over, picture in picture, fades ins, audio dubbing, etc. was extremely impressive.

There are artists like Brad Sucks, Jonathan Coulton, Leah Kauffman, Phil DiFranco, Sarah Austin, and even The Penny Arcade who use social media full time to grow their brand and do what they love.

Andy Jordan states “The technology takes the power of marketing and the board room, and puts it into the hands of the end users“. This is what New Media was all about. Its about connecting, and being self reliant, and having all the power in distribution, marketing, manufacturing, etc.

And so, yes, it’s a ‘magical’ time. New Media is magical – not because of the technology, but because of the people.
